The Greater Essex County District School Board is seeking a qualified ESL Instructor to join their Continuing Education Program.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced ESL Instructor to teach English as a Second Language to adult students. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a fair, inclusive, and antiracist learning environment and supporting diverse constituencies and populations.

Responsibilities
  • Teach English as a Second Language to adult students in a variety of settings, including morning, afternoon, and evening sessions.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to support student success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
  • Valid Ontario Teacher's Certificate.
  • Valid TESL Ontario Accreditation (or attain within 12 months of hiring).
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
