About the Role

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a skilled Building Operator to join our team in the Department of Public Works. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our provincial building infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and resolve potential problems, and perform minor carpentry, mechanical, and electrical repairs.
  • Assist with the development and administration of a scheduled preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and operates safely and efficiently.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with other divisions, project teams, and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a candidate with a Power Engineer 4th Class certificate and at least five years of experience in operating and maintaining commercial or institutional buildings. Familiarity with computerized building maintenance management systems and government procurement policy is an asset.
