Senior Long Term Care Clinical Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Long Term Care Clinical Lead, to join our team at the Region of Peel. This exciting opportunity will allow you to utilize your advanced clinical expertise in a fast-paced environment, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional resident-centered care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, providing individualized care, and overseeing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. As a leader, they will mentor and educate staff, support families, and enhance quality of care through ongoing professional and policy development within their specialty.

Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced skills in the assessment, diagnosis, management, and treatment of older adults with delirium, depression, cognitive impairment, confusion, and behavioral disturbances
- Leadership and mentoring of staff, ensuring comprehensive assessment and documentation
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care
- Educating staff, supporting families, and enhancing quality of care through ongoing professional and policy development
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities to motivate, evaluate, and develop staff
Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class (Primary Health Care or Adult)
- CPR certification designed for healthcare professionals and standard first aid
- Post-graduate education and experience in geriatric or long-term care, rehabilitation, medical/surgical
- Vulnerable Sector Check & TB Skin Test
