About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Risk Assessment Specialist to join our team at WSP USA. As a key member of our Remediation Program Management team, you will play a critical role in supporting projects related to contaminated site assessments and remediation, following Alberta and federal regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Project Teams: Collaborate with project teams to conduct human health and ecological risk assessments, and provide input on project-related issues.
  • Conduct Literature Reviews: Conduct literature reviews on toxicology, environmental chemistry, public health, and related topics to support project objectives.
  • Develop Risk Assessments: Develop and implement risk assessments for contaminated sites, including human health and ecological risk assessments.
  • Prepare Reports: Prepare detailed reports and summaries of risk assessments, including critical analysis and recommendations.
  • Support Field Programs: Assist in the development and implementation of field programs for the collection of samples for chemical analysis.
  • Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to junior staff members.
  • Develop Client Relationships: Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental, toxicology, or biological sciences, or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in environmental risk assessment and management.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Eligible for professional registration with relevant professional associations (e.g., APEGA, ASPB, ACPA, AIA).
