Service Operations Manager

At Pattison Agriculture, we're seeking a skilled Service Shift Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Service Department. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing the workload of our service employees, ensuring quality of work, effective communication, and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
This role involves:
- Assigning and scheduling internal, customer, and warranty jobs for service employees based on their skills and knowledge.
- Working closely with the Service Business Manager to provide new hire orientation and mentorship for new technicians.
- Optimizing shop efficiency and flow to minimize lost billable hours.
- Ensuring effective communication and follow-up on repair status and issues.
- Collaborating with the manager to identify and execute continuous process improvements, training opportunities, and providing backup during peak seasons.
- Directing and assisting in the diagnosis and troubleshooting of machine problems with technicians and apprentices.
- Performing final checks and approvals on equipment before starting work orders.
- Providing exceptional customer service and maintaining customer relations.
- Assisting the Service Advisor in providing quotes on repairs for internal and external customers.
- Building and maintaining constructive relationships with coworkers and fostering strong team dynamics.
- Assisting with safety meetings and encouraging safe working habits.
Requirements:
This role is ideal for individuals with:
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds repeatedly and 40-75 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work flexible hours, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver's license required.
- 5+ years of experience performing complex service repairs and maintenance.
- Ag Equipment Tech (JDTECH) Journeyperson Certification or equivalent.
- Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of ag and turf equipment.
- Ability to use current business systems and working knowledge of computer functions.
