Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Team Member to join our team at Sodexo Canada Ltd. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in accordance with our established standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals for our fine dining and event sections, ensuring that guests receive exceptional food items in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate the smooth service of food, including pass and pick-up, to maintain a high level of quality and efficiency.
  • Organize daily prepping for our restaurants, including line set-up and prepping, to ensure a seamless service experience.
  • Monitor inventory levels and advise supervisors of low stock, assisting with receiving and inventory as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, meeting or exceeding state and local Health Board inspection and hotel requirements.
  • Report any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to supervisors, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the training of kitchen staff, ensuring that all duties are performed during shifts.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
  • Perform ware washing, dishwashing, or other kitchen duties as needed.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
  • Ability to perform functions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to handle food, objects, products, and utensils.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel.
Qualifications
  • 3-4 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Culinary diploma or degree is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Positive attitude and direct communication skills.
