Job Summary:
Domtar is seeking a Strategic Business Partner to join our Human Resources team. As a key member of our organization, you will provide strategic business partnership to leaders and contribute to the improvement, implementation, and administration of HR initiatives, policies, and programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic business partnership to leaders with focus on talent management, performance management, leadership development, and conflict management.
- Facilitate change initiatives with HR counseling and coaching.
- Advice and counsel managers on a variety of topics to optimize employee engagement, team development, and organizational effectiveness.
- Provide service to managers in annual HR processes such as year-end review and compensation planning.
- Provide service to employees, including answering questions regarding benefits, pension plan, policy interpretation and application, corporate programs and practices.
- Contribute to the improvement, implementation, and administration of HR initiatives, policies, and programs.
- HR compliance reporting and data analytics.
- Help lead and provide support for special HR committees and projects.
Requirements:
- Must purposefully and strategically understand the client groups.
- Direct accountability for HR strategy execution within the business function.
- Interface with business functions management to implement programs, policies, and initiatives that support business needs.
Key Skills:
- Communication – Excellent skills (oral and written) in French and English.
- Strong knowledge of provincial legislation and labour standards.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to make good decisions quickly using experience and judgment.
- Adapt quickly to change.
- Ability to manage multiple files at once and meet deadlines, while delivering quality results.
Education and Experience:
- Experience – 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Education – Completed Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
