Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Social Worker/Counsellor to join our team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide psychosocial support to cancer patients and their families, working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities:- Screen, assess, and counsel patients and families regarding emotional and practical needs associated with their diagnosis.
- Develop and implement group programs to meet the needs of patients and families.
- Provide consultation to other disciplines and work as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in planning and development of educational activities and quality improvement programs.
- Provide clinical guidance to students and volunteers as required.
- Participate in and promote research projects as directed.
- Master's degree in a social sciences discipline relevant to the job from a recognized program.
- Minimum of two years of recent experience working in an interdisciplinary setting.
- Experience with individuals, couples, families, and group work, as well as program and community development.
- Eligible for registration with a designated professional regulatory body.
