Splunk Engineer - Distributed Deployments

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Engineer to join our team at United Software Group Inc. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing our Splunk installation on AWS, maintaining and editing Splunk configuration files and apps, and troubleshooting data quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and enhance the company's Splunk installation on AWS
  • Maintain and edit Splunk configuration files and apps
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues and resolve complex technical requirements
  • Provide engineering and administration support for large, distributed Splunk environments
  • Ensure compliance with functional, non-functional, and software requirements
  • Create and optimize Splunk search queries and dashboards
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Security, Site Reliability, and IT Operations teams
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Splunk in Enterprise Observability
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree and 7+ years of experience as a Splunk Engineer (or 10+ years of experience without a degree)
  • 6+ years of experience administering Splunk in distributed deployments
  • Expertise in Splunk and AWS Cloud Platforms
  • 6+ years of experience creating Splunk search queries and dashboards
  • 4+ years of experience supporting complex, large-scale Splunk environments
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Splunk in multi-tenant environments
  • Strong background in system administration, including installation, configuration, monitoring, performance optimization, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Expert in developing log ingestion, aggregation strategies, and onboarding data per Splunk best practices
  • 4+ years of experience with Splunk's Common Information Model (CIM) and Enterprise Analytics
