We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Care to join our team at Victoria Manor Long Term Care. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in supporting the management of the nursing department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the nursing team and ensure effective communication and collaboration with other departments.
- Perform nursing duties to maintain clinical excellence and ensure the delivery of individualized care plans.
- Lead the implementation and monitoring of clinical programs, including Falls Prevention, Skin and Wound Care, Continence Care, and Pain Management.
- Participate in committees and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Model and promote a culture of positive customer service and resident-centered care.
- Coordinate and ensure the implementation of care processes for the RAI MDS Program, Nursing Rehab, and Restorative Care Program.
- Lead recruitment, retention, and employee labour relations efforts for Personal Support Workers and Care Support Assistants.
- Identify learning needs and provide education to support clinical care program delivery and capacity building.
- Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations to team members.
- Support home area/neighbourhood leaders with complex care issues or concerns.
- Contribute to the development of staffing patterns and job routines for nursing personnel.
- Ensure clinical care is delivered in a resident-centered and evidence-based manner.
- Work with the Director of Care to ensure nursing practice aligns with the College of Nurses and organizational vision, mission, and values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current registration with the provincial College of Nurses.
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing or equivalent post-diploma education preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical nursing in seniors' care, including geriatric, long-term care, rehabilitation, or chronic care settings.
- Knowledge of provincial Long Term Care Act & Regulations preferred.
- Excellent proficiency with WORD, email, internet use, and computerized documentation.
- Ability to coach and mentor team members.
- Strong customer service experience.
- Willingness to upgrade and maintain personal and educational qualifications as required.
- Interaction with a diverse population.
- Combination of natural light and fluorescent lighting.
- Exposure to variable temperatures.
- Lifting alone and with assistance.
- Pushing/pulling content.
- Crouching, kneeling, stooping/bending for short periods of time.
- Walking and climbing stairs frequently.
- Standing for long periods of time.
