Job Title: Associate Director of Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Care to join our team at Victoria Manor Long Term Care. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in supporting the management of the nursing department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the nursing team and ensure effective communication and collaboration with other departments.
  • Perform nursing duties to maintain clinical excellence and ensure the delivery of individualized care plans.
  • Lead the implementation and monitoring of clinical programs, including Falls Prevention, Skin and Wound Care, Continence Care, and Pain Management.
  • Participate in committees and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Model and promote a culture of positive customer service and resident-centered care.
  • Coordinate and ensure the implementation of care processes for the RAI MDS Program, Nursing Rehab, and Restorative Care Program.
  • Lead recruitment, retention, and employee labour relations efforts for Personal Support Workers and Care Support Assistants.
  • Identify learning needs and provide education to support clinical care program delivery and capacity building.
  • Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations to team members.
  • Support home area/neighbourhood leaders with complex care issues or concerns.
  • Contribute to the development of staffing patterns and job routines for nursing personnel.
  • Ensure clinical care is delivered in a resident-centered and evidence-based manner.
  • Work with the Director of Care to ensure nursing practice aligns with the College of Nurses and organizational vision, mission, and values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Current registration with the provincial College of Nurses.
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing or equivalent post-diploma education preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in clinical nursing in seniors' care, including geriatric, long-term care, rehabilitation, or chronic care settings.
  • Knowledge of provincial Long Term Care Act & Regulations preferred.
  • Excellent proficiency with WORD, email, internet use, and computerized documentation.
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Willingness to upgrade and maintain personal and educational qualifications as required.
Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to variable temperatures.
  • Lifting alone and with assistance.
  • Pushing/pulling content.
  • Crouching, kneeling, stooping/bending for short periods of time.
