About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our British Columbia Business Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering capital project solutions to our clients across the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project support to experienced project managers, including schedule updates, progress reports, and preparation of tender and contract documents.
  • Engage in on-site organization of contractors and consultants.
  • Attend project and site meetings to capture action items.
  • Provide a communication path between project managers and contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Provide relief support on other projects when available.
  • Ensure that project activities are conducted in accordance with Colliers Project Leaders' Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or quantity surveying (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience).
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience representing owners to multiple stakeholders to deliver projects of varying size and scope in a range of sectors, including healthcare, education, and municipal/provincial.
  • Actively working towards obtaining the Project Management Professional Designation (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.
  • Previous exposure to consultant and design management, construction contract administration, and project financial management is an asset.
  • An understanding of project delivery models, including design-build, construction management, and design-bid-build.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • A results-oriented approach with the ability to take responsibility.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of scheduling (MS Project), word processing (Word), and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications.
