Position Overview:

The role of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Administrator is crucial within the Integrated Digital Services (IDS) Team at Pinchin Ltd. This position entails the comprehensive management, upkeep, and enhancement of the organization's GIS infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the deployment and administration of GIS software, databases, and associated technologies.
  • Provide technical support and training to users to ensure effective utilization of GIS tools.
  • Manage and maintain GIS and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) platforms, databases, and servers.
  • Develop and enforce GIS data management policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Document user guides, workflows, and server configurations for GIS applications.
  • Offer technical insights and recommendations regarding GIS policies and software acquisitions.
  • Conduct data acquisition, conversion, integration, and quality assurance tasks.
  • Design and sustain GIS data layers, maps, and applications within the Esri enterprise portal.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to GIS and FME software, hardware, and data.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to identify and address GIS platform security requirements.
  • Stay informed about GIS industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of GIS projects and initiatives.
  • Perform ArcGIS software patching on both manual and automated schedules.
  • Manage Active Directory objects for GIS application authentication and authorization.
  • Integrate data from various systems to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant policies and privacy regulations.
  • Develop system processes, standards, and documentation for the GIS department.
  • Utilize programming skills in SQL, JavaScript, Python, and Arcade.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Computer Science/Engineering, or Geography, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. A solid understanding of the ArcGIS Enterprise Platform (including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, and SDE) and AutoCAD is essential. Candidates must demonstrate experience in data integration, geodatabase development, and management of geospatial datasets. Familiarity with ETL tools such as Safe Software FME is required, along with proficiency in programming languages like Python, JavaScript, or R, and the ability to execute complex SQL commands within a geodatabase.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are necessary. A valid driver's license with appropriate insurance and access to a vehicle is also required.
