GIS System Administrator

Pinchin Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled GIS System Administrator to join our Integrated Digital Services (IDS) Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Geographic Information System (GIS) infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • GIS Platform Management: Manage and administer GIS & ETL platforms, databases, and servers to ensure seamless data integration and efficient system performance.
  • Data Management Policies: Develop and implement GIS data management policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Documentation and Collaboration: Document and manage application user guides, work processes, and server configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among team members.
  • Technical Insight and Recommendations: Provide technical insight and recommendations for GIS policies and software purchases to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
  • Data Acquisition and Integration: Perform data acquisition, conversion, integration, and quality control tasks to ensure accurate and reliable data.
  • GIS Data Layers and Applications: Design and maintain GIS data layers, maps, and applications in Esri enterprise portal to support business decision-making.
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to GIS & FME software, hardware, and data to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.
  • Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the IT department to identify GIS platform security needs and develop solutions to ensure data security and compliance with policies and privacy laws.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with GIS industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the team's expertise and knowledge remain up-to-date.
  • Project Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of GIS projects and initiatives to support business objectives.
  • System Maintenance: Complete ArcGIS software patching for systems on a manual and automated cycle to ensure system stability and security.
  • Active Directory Management: Manage Active Directory objects for authentication and authorization to GIS applications and data to ensure secure access.
  • Data Integration: Integrate data from other systems of record to support customer requirements and ensure data consistency.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with a major emphasis in GIS, Computer Science/Engineering, or Geography.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in GIS administration and management.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise Platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, SDE) and AutoCAD.
  • Data Management: Demonstrable experience in data integration, developing geodatabases and schemas, managing, and maintaining geospatial datasets.
  • ETL Tools: Knowledge of using ETL tools such as Safe Software FME.
  • Programming Languages: Experience programming using Python, JS, or R and applying complex SQL commands to a geodatabase.
  • Microsoft Office: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Products (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Driver's License: Current and valid driver's license with sufficient insurance, and access to a vehicle.
