Clinical Physician

At Ottawa Inner City Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Physician to join our team. As a key member of our Clinical Services Team, you will work closely with our team members and host and partner organizations to provide high-quality healthcare services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement effective clinical protocols that meet the needs of our clients and partners.
- Provide clinical supervision and support to nurses and nurse practitioners working in an expanded role.
- Contribute to the design of training and orientation modules, and act as a resource within training sessions.
- Facilitate collaboration with other service providers, professionals, and organizations to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Provide client-centered primary care to clients delivered in a respectful and appropriate manner.
- Perform clinical duties, including seeing, examining, assessing clients, prescribing treatment, and providing care.
- Act in an ethical and professional manner, adhering to the guidelines of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Canadian Medical Association, and the policies and standards of Ottawa Inner City Health.
- Medical degree and residency from a recognized university.
- CCFP Certification from the Canadian College of Family Practice or RCPF from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- License to practice from the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons.
- Knowledgeable about the principles and application of harm reduction strategies.
- Five to ten years of experience in a community-based primary care setting.
- Expertise in providing healthcare to an inner-city population.
- At least 2 years of experience working with homeless individuals.
- Experience in contributing to participatory evaluation research.
- Commitment to the education of future health professionals.
- Willingness to conduct research studies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and (oral communication skills in French are considered an asset).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to and knowledge of community-based healthcare.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Sound judgment.
- Able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team-based environment.
- Flexible approach to client care.
