About the Role:

As an Internal Communications Specialist, you will play a key role in developing and implementing cross-functional internal communications strategies that support the goals and objectives of our company. You will work closely with our senior leadership team to craft compelling messages that resonate with our employees and stakeholders.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering internal communications strategies, tools, and materials that support our company's goals and objectives
  • Representing Communications at Functional Senior Leadership Team meetings, confidently presenting ideas to key collaborators, and asking the right questions to understand the agenda of the team/business
  • Supporting Aviva Canada's monthly live stream broadcast program – All Access, including building and aligning the editorial calendar, identifying and securing program hosts/guests, and working with the Comms team to set up and run the equipment during program broadcast/podcast
  • Driving engagement through targeted communication, including supporting the team to build templates for targeted email communication across the business that allows for interactivity, engaging and multi-media content, and providing robust metrics around employee interaction with the channel
  • Supporting Aviva Canada's Channel Strategy through playing the analytics advocate role within the team for channel effectiveness, developing regular dashboards that highlight effectiveness and draw out important insights, and managing digital channels; developing conversion/growth strategies
What We're Looking For:
  • Completed undergraduate or advanced college diploma in journalism, communications, or public relations
  • At least three years in a corporate environment/PR agency, preferably in insurance, professional services, or banking
  • Experience writing, proofreading, and editing across a variety of platforms (bilingual is an asset)
  • Ability to develop internal communications strategies and implementing tactics to help maintain and strengthen company culture
  • Skill/tact in dealing with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work as a standout colleague in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and industry-standard tools
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks based on relative importance and urgency
  • Works well under pressure and can effectively and expertly handle tough issues in a complex, matrix organization
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate with professionals at all levels within the firm
  • Keen to learn, grow, and develop both personally and professionally
