About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Internal Communications Strategies: Assist in the development and delivery of cross-functional internal communications strategies, tools, and materials that support the company's goals and objectives.
  • Represent Communications at Senior Leadership Meetings: Represent Communications at Functional Senior Leadership Team meetings, confidently presenting ideas to key collaborators, and asking the right questions to understand the agenda of the team/business.
  • Support Live Stream Broadcast Program: Support Aviva Canada's monthly live stream broadcast program – All Access, by building and aligning the editorial calendar with both interpersonal and team priorities, identifying and securing program hosts/guests, and working with the Comms team to set up and run the equipment during program broadcast/podcast.
  • Drive Engagement through Targeted Communication: Support the team to build templates for targeted email communication across the business that allows for interactivity, engaging, and multi-media content, and provides robust metrics around employee interaction with the channel (opens, clicks, etc.).
  • Support Channel Strategy: Play the analytics advocate role within the team for channel effectiveness and develop regular dashboards that highlight effectiveness and draw out important insights, manage digital channels, and develop conversion/growth strategies.
Requirements
  • Education: Completed undergraduate or advanced college diploma in journalism, communications, or public relations.
  • Experience: At least three years in a corporate environment/PR agency, preferably in insurance, professional services, or banking.
  • Skills: Experience writing, proofreading, and editing across a variety of platforms (bilingual is an asset), ability to develop internal communications strategies and implement tactics to help maintain and strengthen company culture, skill/tact in dealing with people at all levels of the organization, ability to work as a standout colleague in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, knowledge of Microsoft Office and industry-standard tools, proven ability to prioritize tasks based on relative importance and urgency, works well under pressure and can effectively and expertly handle tough issues in a complex, matrix organization, strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate with professionals at all levels within the firm, keen to learn, grow, and develop both personally and professionally.
