Health Information Services Supervisor

Position Overview
The incumbent will oversee the Health Information Services team, ensuring that patient registration is conducted in accordance with standards and best practices. The focus will be on optimizing workflow and ensuring seamless communication processes. The incumbent will also represent the hospital and department on various committees and working groups, focusing on registration and communication services.
Experience
- Two years of direct experience in patient registration.
- Demonstrated experience with automated admission/discharge/transfer (ADT) applications, including knowledge of software messaging standards.
- Experience with telephone communication equipment.
- Experience with interpretation and application of relevant privacy and related legislation.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Graduate of a recognized training program for Health Information Management Professionals, Business Administration, or Health Services Management.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively schedule, supervise, direct, motivate, and evaluate staff.
- A thorough understanding of client registry and registration functions, as well as their inter-relationship and integration with other Health Information Services functions.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions within scope of practice and role.
- Demonstrated team building and coaching skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office programs and staff automated scheduling systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
