Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is between $25.27 and $30.05 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

As a Laboratory Assistant at LifeLabs, you will play a vital role in the specimen collection process, ensuring seamless interactions with patients and healthcare providers. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting patients, explaining the specimen collection process, and verifying necessary test protocols
  • Performing phlebotomies, connecting/disconnecting holter monitors, and completing related documentation
  • Maintaining client relationships through prompt responses to inquiries and follow-ups
  • Accurately entering patient demographics, requisition information, and other essential data
  • Preparing specimens for transportation and testing
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience in phlebotomy, intravenous infusion, or therapy
  • ECG training or experience as an asset
  • Proficient data entry skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Stricter adherence to patient confidentiality and privacy standards
