Employee Relations Manager - Indigenous Peoples

Scotiabank is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment that reflects the communities we serve. We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our Indigenous Peoples Relations program.

About the Role

This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and experiences. As an Employee Relations Manager, you will be responsible for investigating and resolving medium to high-risk cases related to Indigenous Peoples, ensuring that all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, Bank policies, and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
  • Independently manage cases, providing value-added advice and coaching on employment-related issues to employees, People Managers, and HR Business Partners
  • Conduct formal investigations into allegations of serious misconduct, both independently and/or in collaboration with the Employment Law Group and Corporate Security
  • Lead employee interviews, analyzing the facts of situations, writing investigative reports, and presenting findings and recommendations to Senior Leadership
  • Work in collaboration with HR Business Partners to plan the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives, identifying trends and providing insights to Senior Leadership and HR Business Partners
  • Promote and support a seamless and consistent experience for employees and People Managers with ER/LR issues and concerns, updating and maintaining accurate information in the ER/LR case file
