Employee Relations Manager

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Employee Relations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Employee Relations and Labour Relations business strategy, you will be responsible for investigating and finalizing medium to high-risk cases, ensuring compliance with governing regulations, Bank policies, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Independently manage cases, acting as a subject matter expert and providing value-added advice and coaching on employment-related issues to employees, People Managers, and HR Business Partners.
  • Conduct formal investigations into allegations of serious misconduct, both independently and/or in collaboration with the Employment Law Group and Corporate Security.
  • Lead employee interviews, analyzing facts and writing investigative reports to present findings and recommendations to Senior Leadership.
  • Work in collaboration with HR Business Partners to plan the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives, identifying trends and providing insights to Senior Leadership and HR Business Partners.
  • Promote and support a seamless and consistent experience for employees and People Managers with ER/LR issues and concerns, updating and maintaining accurate information in the ER/LR case file.

  • Ability to pivot with ease between priorities.
  • Desire to lead people to be their best or similar leadership criteria.
  • Interviewing and/or consultative background would be a strong asset.
