About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Rehabilitation Assistant to join our Allied Health team at Sault Area Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our physiotherapists in providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physiotherapists with patient treatment, including exercise and walking programs, and therapy activities to increase endurance and tolerance.
- Participate in the facilitation of group therapy sessions and provide education to patients as assigned by the physiotherapist.
- Perform routine range of motion exercises on patients and prepare and apply treatments under the direct supervision of the physiotherapist.
- Record and enter workload units in software and maintain medical records of treatment provided.
- Ensure the cleanliness of equipment and work areas and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years practical physiotherapy experience
- Demonstrated ability to instruct patients on the use of crutches, canes, walkers, and slings
- Demonstrated knowledge in range of motion exercises and ultrasound, electrical stimulation
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, under supervision, and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
