Job Summary: The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS is seeking a Research Coordinator, Routinely Collected Data to support documentation and descriptive examination activities related to using routinely collected data for research. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Senior Epidemiologist to review and summarize published literature, perform data examinations, and create educational/training materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create educational/training materials, including reviewing/summarizing literature relevant to the use of routinely collected data for research.
  • Coordinate meetings and contribute to discussions related to the use of routinely collected data for research purposes.
  • Conduct evaluation, exploration, documentation, and validation of routinely collected data to support understanding of how best to repurpose these data for research.
  • Consult and collaborate with technical, research, and clinical staff to better understand routinely collected data and their use for research.
  • Support research staff by reviewing study protocols and resultant abstracts/manuscripts that describe outputs from analyses of routinely collected data.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Epidemiology or Population/Public Health supplemented by 1-2 years of recent related work experience.
  • Effective skills in communication (written, oral) of technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with routinely collected data, particularly in British Columbia or other Canadian regions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of key epidemiologic concepts and research concepts more broadly.
