Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver client care according to the Nova Scotia College of Nursing Standards of Nursing Practice.
  • Provide ongoing client care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Implement client care plans.
  • Safely implement physician's orders.
  • Administer medications to clients.
  • Maintain current progress records on clients according to legal and ethical standards.
  • Orientate, facilitate, and reinforce client's involvement in addiction treatment.
  • Decide and initiate on course of action in case of medical emergencies.

The successful candidate will have a graduate degree from an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses with pharmacological training or completion of a recognized Advanced Care Paramedic program. They must be licensed as a Practical Nurse or Advanced Care Paramedic in the Province of Nova Scotia, possess current basic CPR certification, and demonstrate recent clinical experience including medication administration and leadership duties.
