Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Fresh Produce Promoter to join our team at Encore Market Engagement. As a key representative of our company, you will be responsible for developing relationships with grocers and promoting the consumption of fresh Ontario produce and agricultural foods.

About the Role:
  • Develop and execute merchandising strategies to increase distribution and visibility of marketing materials in grocery stores across your region.
  • Promote the annual Retailer Awards Program, recognizing food retailers who promote Ontario foods.
  • Build strong relationships with produce and department managers to share information on Ontario commodities and promote the benefits of the Foodland program and brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Merchandise and measure linear footage of seasonal Ontario and imported commodities.
  2. Record display type/location of key Ontario products being tracked.
  3. Plan and strategically place point-of-sale (POS) material to identify seasonal Ontario products.
  4. Maximize POS placement on Ontario products throughout the produce department, store entrances, checkout counters, and other departments.
  5. Remove/replace outdated or damaged POS as necessary and dispose in an environmentally responsible manner.
  6. Execute special projects and surveys as scheduled by Foodland or your Manager.
  7. Share creative merchandising insights with Foodland team members/Manager.
Requirements:
  • Previous sales and/or merchandising experience, preferably in the grocery channel.
  • A genuine interest in part-time, long-term employment.
  • The ability to increase working hours during the summer months.
  • Full access to a reliable vehicle and high-speed internet with WiFi at home.
  • The ability to store some supplies at home and transport them in your vehicle.
  • This role can be physical at times - you must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
