Job Title: Wholesale Buyer - Merchandise Acquisition Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Wholesale Buyer to join our team at Best Office Inc. as a Merchandise Acquisition Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring and managing wholesale merchandise for our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends and market conditions.
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels and oversee the distribution of merchandise to outlets.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, ensuring that it meets our quality and pricing standards.
  • Supervise the work of other buyers and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in wholesale buying or a related field.
  • College/CEGEP education.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.

Work Environment: The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of experienced professionals. The work will involve frequent communication with suppliers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

Hours: 35 hours per week
