Job Title: Assistant Property Administrator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Property Administrator to join our team at Niagara Region. As an Assistant Property Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the Property Administrator team in the management of affordable housing portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct annual unit inspections and regular safety inspections of common spaces to ensure conformity with NRH policy and legal requirements.
  • Assist with tenant services logistics, including annual audit for qualifying subsidy packages, reviewing pending rental payment approvals, and other services related to tenant responsibilities.
  • Act as a property administrator in their absence, including investigating and resolving tenant issues, overseeing maintenance and repair of designated property portfolios, and performing full Property Administrator functions for vacation and time off periods.
  • Direct oversight of service contracts for quality assurance, including monitoring contractors and the work completed, identifying and escalating any issues to the Property Administrator.
Requirements:
  • Diploma from a 2-year college program in Social Services, Business Administration, Paralegal, or other related fields.
  • At least 2 years' experience in social housing and/or property management sector.
  • Knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulations, including the Housing Services Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Residential Tenancies Act.
  • Bilingual English and French is considered an asset.
