Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Terra Early Learning Society. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the overall development of children
  • Encourage children to express creativity through various media, including art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations and adherence to health, security, and well-being standards
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • Plan and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children
Requirements
  • College/CEGEP education
  • Experience in early childhood education an asset
  • Certifications in emergency child care first aid and CPR
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Criminal record check
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a non-smoking environment at a child care centre. Public transportation is available.
