Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth research on individual, corporate, and foundation prospects to identify their interests, values, and philanthropic potential.
  • Analyze and interpret research findings to prepare concise and informative prospect profiles.
  • Collaborate with development staff to develop targeted cultivation and solicitation strategies to maximize donor engagement.
  • Prepare background briefings for Board and committee meetings, strategy planning sessions, and fundraising events.
  • Work with departmental leadership to assign, segment, and prioritize prospects based on their capacity and affinity with Royal Conservatory programs.
  • Participate in Prospect Review meetings to provide input on prospects being discussed and update information in our database.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a prospect research role with a non-profit organization or advanced training in prospect research for philanthropic support.
  • Previous experience in prospect management, including responsibility for prospect assignment, data management, and monitoring, and status reporting.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and communication skills, with a strong command of grammar and spelling.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software, online databases, commercial information services, and internet searches.
  • A proven work history of strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle competing deadlines, and prioritize a large volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
