Job Summary

We are seeking a Part Time Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will provide direct and indirect support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting their independence, self-determination, and community inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide support to individuals with daily activities, personal care, and medication administration
* Monitor and support health issues for each individual, as required
* Assist individuals to maintain a clean and well-maintained home
* Promote community inclusion, independence, and self-determination for individuals
* Support individuals to identify, work towards, and achieve their personal goals and dreams
* Encourage self-expression and utilize knowledge of verbal and nonverbal communications
* Keep informed about and utilize community resources
* Work collaboratively with the team, individuals, and families to solve problems and resolve conflicts

Qualifications

* Completed or enrolled in a Developmental Services Worker Diploma, Social Services Worker Diploma, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, or Degree or Diploma in Nursing (RNs, NPs, RPNs)
* Valid Ontario Driver's License (Class G or G2), access to a reliable vehicle, and car insurance
* Some experience working or volunteering with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred
* Good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, non-verbal, written)
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with families as necessary
* Proficient in PC computer environment, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other software
* Current Standard First Aid / Level A CPR Certificate required
