Key Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate guests' needs, ensuring service exceeds expectations.
  • Stay knowledgeable about all food and beverage items to make informed recommendations.
  • Ensure accuracy when entering orders into the POS system.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation standards.
  • Maintain open communication with the Leadership Team.
  • Inspect and detail the dining room, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
  • Monitor section cleanliness and maintain a clutter-free environment.
  • Follow all food safety standards and systems.
  • Be aware of special requests, including guest allergies.
  • Responsibly manage safe and informed ordering for allergen guests.
  • Complete opening, closing, and side duties efficiently.
  • Ensure the server station is stocked and ready for service.
  • Perform assigned side work.
  • Collaborate with colleagues as a team, viewing the entire restaurant as your section when possible.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operation.
  • Manage cash handling and accurate reporting.

Requirements:

  • Embody PLANTA's can-do attitude, demonstrating passion and dedication.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a high-volume, casual fine-dining establishment.
  • Thriving in a collaborative environment.
  • A proactive team player with a spirit of entrepreneurship and mutual respect.
  • Smart Serve certification.
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails.
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage items.
  • Able to cope with pressure and tight schedules.
  • Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours, bend, push, pull, and lift 30 lbs.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including POS systems.
  • Professional appearance suitable for a premier restaurant.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Results-oriented and impeccably organized.
  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, WSET, Prud'homme, or equivalent considered an asset.
  • Full-time flexible hours required (days, nights, weekends, holidays) or as agreed with your hiring manager.
