Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team at Mile House Hospital in Mile House, BC.

Mile House is a centre for outdoor activities and is becoming increasingly known for its excellent birdwatching. Fishing is extremely popular at any of the one hundred lakes surrounding the area. Known as the Nordic Skiing Capital of BC, Mile House boasts over km of groomed trails which convert to excellent mountain biking trails in the summer.

Job Description

This position supports acute care, outpatients/diabetes education and long-term care. The successful candidate will utilize clinical techniques and knowledge to provide nutrition services through:

  • nutrition assessment; care planning and charting;
  • intervention, goal setting and monitoring;
  • counseling and education programs;
  • consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams;
  • acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have:

  • a Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics;
  • successful completion of an accredited hospital based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility);
  • registrant of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia;
  • two year's of clinical nutrition experience in a healthcare environment or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience suitable to the facility or program;
  • practice specific requirements and experience in programs applicable to practice area such as: Diabetes Education, Nutrition Support, and Kidney and Chronic Disease Management Programs;
  • a valid BC Driver's License.
