Job Title: Vice-President - College or University

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary leader to join our team as Vice-President - College or University at St. Francis Xavier University. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the academic and research agenda of our institution.

Job Summary:

The Vice-President - College or University will provide strategic leadership and direction to the academic and research functions of the university. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of academic programs, research initiatives, and partnerships with external organizations. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership, vision, and innovation in higher education, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the academic and research functions of the university.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of academic programs, research initiatives, and partnerships with external organizations.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to advance the academic and research mission of the university.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective management of academic and research programs.
  • Provide leadership and support to faculty and staff in the development and implementation of research initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external organizations, including government agencies, industry partners, and other universities.
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support academic and research programs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to academic and research activities.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role in higher education.
  • Proven track record of leadership, vision, and innovation in higher education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with external organizations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets and resources.
