Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for purchasing activities for indirect goods and services. Your primary objective will be to analyze requisitions, issue purchase orders, negotiate prices, conditions, and delivery times with suppliers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Validate the various required materials and/or processes
  • Negotiate with suppliers and identify new suppliers when necessary
  • Analyze requisitions in line with established procedures
  • Analyze proposals, negotiate prices, and delivery times
  • Issue purchasing orders, obtain manufacturing plans/techniques when required
  • Manage contracts and files
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure delivery of products in compliance with prescribed deadlines
  • Update the system with the latest delivery information
  • Identify and communicate critical situations with management
  • Visit suppliers to resolve issues as required
  • Keep scheduling settings up to date
  • Manage supplier performance (monitoring and feedback)
  • Represent program procurement at operations meetings when required
Requirements
  • Good communicator with strong work organization skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize, time management, and achieve results
  • Quick learning with strong negotiation skills
  • Bilingual French and English, spoken and written
  • Experience in customer service, account management is a major asset
  • Knowledge of an MRP/ERP system (asset)
