About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team at Héroux-Devtek. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for purchasing activities for indirect goods and services, playing a critical role in achieving the organization's objectives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Validate the various required materials and/or processes
  • Negotiate with suppliers and identify new suppliers when necessary
  • Analyze requisitions in line with established procedures
  • Analyze proposals, negotiate prices and delivery times
  • Issue purchasing orders, obtain manufacturing plans/techniques when required
  • Manage contracts and files
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure delivery of products in compliance with prescribed deadlines
  • Update the system with the latest delivery information
  • Identify and communicate critical situations with management
  • Visit suppliers to resolve issues as required
  • Keep scheduling settings up to date
  • Manage supplier performance (monitoring and feedback)
  • Represent program procurement at operations meetings when required
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, business administration or College diploma in a related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a buyer, ideally in a technical environment
  • Good communicator with strong work organization skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize, time management and achieve results
  • Quick learning with strong negotiation skills
  • Bilingual French and English, spoken and written
  • Experience in customer service, account management is a major asset
  • Knowledge of an MRP / ERP system (asset)
