Job Overview

At Techo-Bloc, the Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in our global sourcing initiatives. This position is designed to assist our purchasing team and engage with suppliers to manage consolidated quotation requests, foster new vendor partnerships, and occasionally place orders for non-inventoried products, ensuring timely delivery to our facilities.

Daily Responsibilities:

Become a part of Techo-Bloc's procurement team, where each day presents new challenges in sourcing the ideal materials and services that drive our industry-leading operations. Begin your day with a brief team meeting to outline priorities, followed by a coffee break as you delve into tasks such as sourcing innovative materials or analyzing CAD designs. Your responsibilities may include vendor visits to assess product quality and coordinating demonstrations with the sales department. During lunch, engage with your colleagues to discuss the morning's achievements and strategize for the afternoon. Post-lunch, you might be involved in setting up live demonstrations, such as testing fire-pit accessories, ensuring everything functions as intended. This role is dynamic and fulfilling, offering numerous opportunities to make a significant impact.

Sourcing Activities (60%):

  • Identify and assess potential products.
  • Lead supplier and cost assessments for new materials.
  • Manage vendor relationships, conducting reviews and scorecards based on global sourcing performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with both new and existing suppliers, handling contract negotiations and pricing discussions.
  • Contribute to the sourcing team through reporting, data analysis, documentation, and other relevant tasks.

Collaboration and Project Management (25%):

  • Act as the primary liaison between new suppliers and Techo-Bloc to identify, select, develop, and procure new products, as well as negotiate and finalize service agreements.
  • Transition sampled SKUs to inventoried items by collaborating with Engineering, R&D, and Planning teams.
  • Work alongside the procurement team to identify needs and present viable purchasing options for equipment and supplies.

Supply Chain and Purchasing (15%):

  • Complete sample purchase orders.
  • Assess and address supply chain issues and respond to inquiries as necessary.
  • Compare available products to determine the best pricing options.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or product management within a manufacturing environment.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in vendor relations and contract negotiations.
  • Demonstrated experience in researching, qualifying, and selecting leads for projects.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably SAP or Microsoft AX).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams, Excel, etc.).
  • Bilingual proficiency (English required to serve our clients effectively).
