Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sushi Chef Manager to lead our culinary team at Restaurant Gemini Sushi.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role and will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, preparing and cooking meals, requisitioning food and supplies, planning menus, and ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chef Management: Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs, and cooks; maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
  • Culinary Expertise: Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets; demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
  • Menu Planning: Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards; create new recipes and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
  • Kitchen Operations: Requisition food and kitchen supplies; estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A permanent position with 30-35 hours per week.
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $50,000-$60,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
