Job Summary

destinationone Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Import/Export Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating the import and export of goods, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with agents, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth information exchange and timely updates on shipment status.
  • Pre-Alerts and Status Reports: Enter and send pre-alerts to keep customers and agents informed about air shipment departures, and prepare, manage, and send status reports to clients.
  • Shipment Tracking: Keep track of shipments with airlines, agents, and truckers for real-time updates, and check relevant documents for accuracy, such as bills of lading and preliminary documents.
  • Client Updates: Update clients and agents on the status of their shipments regularly, and arrange pick-ups from shippers in an organized and timely manner.
  • Financial Management: Issue invoices accurately and on time, handle intents to claim when needed, and keep track of pending charges and manage financial transactions carefully.
  • Proof of Delivery: Dispatch and follow up on Proof of Deliveries (PODs), and close files accurately and on time.
  • Client Status Report: Maintain and update the Client status report, and solve problems effectively as they arise.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • Certifications: CITT and/or CIFFA certifications considered assets.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience with Air Freight Import & Export logistics.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, experience effectively managing third-party logistics providers, ability to interpret complex instructions, and customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Organizational Abilities: Effective multitasking and organizational abilities, friendly, helpful attitude with a willingness to support, and demonstrates honesty, trustworthiness, and respect.
  • Work Ethics: Sound work ethics in a fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills, and financial awareness.
