About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Indigenous Healing Facilitator to join our team at Native Child and Family Services of Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing culturally sensitive support to our clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement culturally based prevention services that are child-centered, family-focused, and community-driven.
  • Facilitate traditional talking circles to promote healing, empowerment, and well-being among our clients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with Elders and other team members to create a safe and supportive environment for our clients.
  • Provide education and support to families on the OTC process and help them develop an agreed-upon plan for moving forward.
  • Comply with provincial and occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in consultation and collaboration with internal staff and external partners to ensure effective communication and working relationships.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding and practice of Indigenous approaches to healing, including land-based practices and cultural knowledge.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and families, with a strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity and humility.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and mutual respect.
