Job Summary

This exciting opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team at Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH). As an Occupational Therapist with VCH, you will have the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide occupational therapy services that enable clients to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes.


You will be responsible for performing assessments on client's occupational performance using an evidence-based approach, planning and implementing outcome-oriented services and evaluating their effectiveness. Additionally, you will prepare and maintain accurate records, participate in interdisciplinary research and contribute to the development, review and promotion of occupational therapy services.

About the Role

  • Your Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy or Rehabilitation Sciences from a recognized program will serve as a strong foundation for this role.
  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC) is mandatory.
  • Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) is also required.
  • A broad knowledge of Occupational Therapy theory and practice within a client- and family-centered model of care is essential.
  • You will also need to possess basic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to designated clinical areas and standardized tests and measures.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and empower clients to assume control over their health, adjust to unexpected events and problem-solve is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for success in this role.
  • Familiarity with computerized client care information systems and physical ability to perform duties is also essential.
