The Role
We are seeking a skilled Second Cook to join our culinary team at the Rogers Centre. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food to order for guests, adhering to established guidelines and health and safety standards.
Essential Functions
- Reports directly to the Head Cook and/or Chef de Partie
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to Legends Hospitality's policies
- Comply with Legends Hospitality's standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Prepare food items for all outlets, suites, catering, and banquets in a timely and accurate manner
- Coordinate with Head Cooks and Chef de Partie on daily food requisitions and inventory management
- Ensure strict control of wastage and portions to achieve gross food profitability and food cost
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
Qualifications
- Culinary Journeyman Red Seal Certificate or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years cooking experience or 1 year as a Prep Cook in a similar environment
- Previous experience in all areas of the kitchen, including suite food production, buffets, banquets, catering, and menu planning
- Ability to safely use and operate various knives, cutlery, and appliances
- Flexibility to adapt to changing scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Working Conditions
Location: On Site
The physical demands of this role require regular standing, walking, and stooping, as well as the ability to safely use and operate various kitchen equipment.
