Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Second Cook to join our kitchen team at AccorHotel. As a Second Cook, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation in the workstation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation in the workstation as directed by the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef on duty.
  • Prepare necessary food items as directed by the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef in accordance with standards in a timely and efficient fashion.
  • Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met.
  • Keep the workstation clean and organized, including fridge/freezers, countertops, range tops, and ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard.
  • Minimize overproduction and food waste, ensuring proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food to reduce food cost expense.
  • Operate all kitchen equipment with safety in mind at all times.
  • Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared, and served safely in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines.
  • Report any and all deficiencies in kitchen equipment functionality and quality of food products to the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef in a timely manner.
  • Complete other job-related duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of cooking experience.
  • Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards is an asset.
  • Valid City of Toronto Food Handler Certificate required.
  • Certificate or Diploma from a recognized Culinary School.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Environment:

This is a part-time position.
