Calgary, Alberta, Canada Shell Full time
About the Opportunity

Shell Calgary is seeking a highly skilled Creative Solutions Project Management Lead to join the Strategic Communications and Brand Team. This role will report directly to the Creative Solutions Lead and will be responsible for providing strategic advice to stakeholders and Creative Solution Project Managers to develop and deliver top-tier creative solutions that enhance the Shell Brand.

The Shell Brand is an iconic and unmistakable symbol of the Group's promise to customers, stakeholders, partners, and staff. As the most valuable asset, independently estimated to be worth over $50 billion USD, it is more than a logo, representing why customers should buy Shell's products, services, and solutions, as well as why they should buy into the company's purpose.

The Brand team develops and sharpens Brand Strategy, anchoring its substance while enabling its style or expressions to pivot towards a digital-first, AI-powered century. A particular emphasis is the architecture of a unifying Brand that pulls and carries key business sub-Brands. Through SBI, the company also profits from trademark licensing, worth $500 million USD in royalty income.

The Brand Advertising campaigns are crafted to humanize the brand, stimulating awareness and demand for Shell's value-propositions on energy. Independent econometric modeling consistently proves that advertising investments deliver incremental ROI (over 2x) to customer-centric businesses, such as Mobility, Lubricants, and RES.

In the service of Shell businesses and functions across the Group, the CR Brand provides strategic, operational, and tech-enabled services, including Digital & Social Media Strategy and Creative Solutions (CS). The DSM unit defines digital-social channel strategies and techniques to optimize bespoke content for maximum effectiveness, managing a vast digital real estate with 150 websites, earning nearly 60 million annual visits and generating over 1 billion impressions per year.

The Creative Solutions unit manages and produces creatively effective content, complying with Brand Standards and delivering incredible cost savings via disintermediation of agencies and their fees. The team manages over 600 projects worth $100 million USD in Shell creative content projects and has saved the group $60 million USD in 2023 alone, with award-winning work (12 major awards in 2023) and high ratings from internal clients, with 100% rating CS as having 'met or exceeded expectations' (53% rating them 'perfect' across all KPIs).

The Creative Solutions Project Management Lead will be responsible for driving efficient integration across various teams within the Functions and IGU business to achieve creative coherence and impact, significant cost savings and efficiencies enabled by solid project strategies. They will lead the Creative Solution strategic game planning process, making team decisions on team composition, partners and suppliers, project milestones, accountabilities, engagement approach, and integration opportunities.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Shell HSSE Framework and its implementation in relation to the delivery of projects. They will also have excellent multi-discipline project management skills, solid experience in managing multiple projects ranging in size and complexity, from strategy to execution, and across a wide range of disciplines, including design, integrated comms, digital, photography, social, film, and experiential activations.

They will be able to shape creative ambitions, judge and refine creative ideas, and assess the work against the brief. Strong stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of proactively developing and nurturing business relationships, are also essential. The successful candidate will be able to deliver through others, empowering and supporting Creative Solutions Project Managers to seamlessly execute projects within their portfolio.
