We are seeking an experienced Administrative Manager to lead the Marine Campus team at BCIT. As a key member of our School of Transportation, you will play a crucial role in overseeing departmental operations, including financial management, human resources, planning, and business process support.

The Opportunity

This full-time (1.0 FTE) position requires strong leadership, time management, project management, and organizational skills. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to develop and monitor the department's annual operating budget and operational plan. Additionally, you will provide support to the Associate Dean in setting priorities and analyzing changes, driving related processes forward.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the Operations Manager in overseeing operation and capital budget development, analysis, and reporting, as well as current and long-range planning.
  • Analyze support structures, system needs, department policies, and processes, initiating changes or establishing new systems as appropriate.
  • Manage the day-to-day planning, administration, and coordination of programs within the department, overseeing designated administrative matters, including human resources processes.
  • Prepare reports on financial, enrolment, and human resources data for the department, presenting findings and recommendations to the School's leadership team.
  • Manage projects and initiatives in support of the department and School goals, coordinating projects related to space planning and utilization, including capital and operating projects.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and three to five years of experience, including preparation and administration of budgets, and supervisory experience in a unionized environment. Strong business acumen, leadership skills, and attention to detail are essential.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $73,593 to $101,191, with a control point of $91,992. Other benefits include minimum twenty-five days of vacation, competitive employer-paid extended health and dental plan, defined benefit pension plan, professional development funds, and access to most BCIT Flexible Learning courses free of charge.
