**Key Responsibilities**:
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring work orders are completed efficiently and on time.
- Schedule and prioritize work orders to ensure optimal use of resources and timely service delivery.
- Manage the workflow of repairs, maintenance, installations, and diagnostics.
2. Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of marine technicians and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve team performance.
3. Customer Relations:
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers, handling inquiries, complaints, and service requests.
- Provide expert advice to customers on repair and maintenance needs.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering quality service and timely communication.
4. Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical support and guidance to technicians as needed.
- Ensure all work is performed to industry standards and in compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies, tools, and techniques in the marine industry.
5. Inventory and Parts Management:
- Oversee the ordering of parts and supplies for each service job
- Ensure that parts are available for scheduled repairs and maintenance without delays.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate terms for parts and equipment.
6. Accurate Billing:
- Ensure accurate billing of parts and labor after the completion of each service job.
- Review work orders to confirm all parts and labor hours are correctly recorded and charged.
- Communicate billing details to customers clearly and promptly
7. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures in the service department.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, particularly concerning the disposal of hazardous materials.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for staff.
8. Quality Control:
- Ensure that all work meets the highest quality standards.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes to minimize rework and errors.
- Review completed jobs for accuracy and completeness before delivery to customers.
9. Vendor and Manufacturer Relations:
- Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, particularly with Volvo and Mercury, to ensure the service center stays informed about product updates, recalls, and service bulletins.
- Handle warranty claims and negotiations with manufacturers.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience in the marine industry, with a strong technical background.
- Previous experience in a service management or supervisory role is preferred.
- Knowledge of Volvo and Mercury products is essential.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
