Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst, Hard Rock to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. This key position will support our global hard rock organization in establishing and monitoring ongoing business results. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn how a large matrix organization operates and create their own footprint in the company through continuous improvement of financial information.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Perform tasks in support of the monthly closing process, including development and report-out of key performance indicators (KPIs), standard cost variance and margin (price, volume, mix) analysis, and capacity cost reviews.
- Review balance sheet trends and identify opportunities for return on investment (ROI) improvement; prepare monthly inventory and capital spending reports, evaluate reserves for lower-of-cost or market and obsolete or slow-moving inventory; participate in monthly sales and operations planning (S&OP) meetings, and provide recommendations to improve working capital metrics.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and analyze consolidated quarterly financial outlooks, the annual budget, and annual mid-term strategic plan and business roadmap.
- Review monthly financial results providing clear and concise analysis of significant profit and loss (P&L), balance sheet, and bookings and backlog variances against budget and outlook.
- Special Projects and Support
- Provide financial analysis and support around ad-hoc or special projects, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures or restructuring, sales contracts and/or commercial/aftermarket proposals and contracts, IT or corporate projects.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or related field; minimum 4-8 years' experience.
- SAP experience is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience with financial analysis and consolidation.
- Experience within a global organization with collaboration through various financial resources.
- Strong computer skills and ability to effectively communicate (written, verbal, phone).
- Solid problem-solving skills with an attention to detail required.
- Strong communication skills to be able to summarize complex financial data and present findings through verbal and written communication formats.
- Ability to manipulate and analyze large and, or complex data sets to distill insights, connect ideas into clear and cohesive recommendations using creative, effective, structured, and analytical thinking.
- Valid passport with ability to travel to global business destinations on occasion.
- Ability to work varied hours as required due to time zone differences and financial closure timelines.
