Trail, Canada GFL Environmental Full time

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Trail, BC. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals in the field of heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

The estimated salary for this position is around $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include a competitive benefits plan, including retirement saving options, prioritized orthodontic and vision coverage, life insurance, and shift premiums for afternoon and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing preventative Maintenance, including basic vehicle servicing to engine or transmission overhaul
  • Diagnosing and repairing operational difficulties with heavy duty trucks and equipment
  • Completing reports, work orders, ordering parts and performing other administrative duties
  • Planning and scheduling repairs in M5 planner and procuring all parts for successful plans
  • Assisting in the review of mechanical write-ups on equipment and coordinating repair schedules

Requirements:

  • Completion of 1st and 2nd year of certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • Previous work in the waste industry is an asset
  • Computer literate, with the ability to be trained on software systems and the willingness to learn
  • Meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards
