Job Title: Power Generation Field Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Power Generation Field Service Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and completing less complex repairs to generators and components at customer sites. They will engage customers in a courteous and professional manner, anticipate and ensure prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and complete less complex repairs to generators and components at customer sites.
  • Engage customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Apply the use of specialized tools and follow documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Complete training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Red seal certification in Heavy duty mechanics.
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products and electrical repair.
  • Intermediate level field service work experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
  • Current relevant electrical certification.
  • Locally valid driving permit.
Experience:
  • Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience.
  • Proficient with electrical and electronic troubleshooting.
  • Must be willing and able to have flexibility with work hours.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to remote locations via charter and commercial flights - often smaller aircraft.
  • Solid computer skills such as web based diagnostics, research, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Previous power generation technical knowledge and hands on experience would be an asset.
  • The ideal candidate would possess an M limited electrical license (for power generation services).
Compensation and Benefits:
