Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Power Generation Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

This is a challenging role that requires a strong background in mechanical and electrical repair, as well as excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with generators and components at customer sites.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Apply specialized tools and follow documented procedures to diagnose and complete repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities on power generation products in the field, adhering to documented schedules and standards.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain service vehicles and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues or incidents to site management and supervisors.
Requirements
  • Red Seal certification in Heavy Duty Mechanics.
  • Basic knowledge of engine products and electrical repair.
  • Intermediate level field service work experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • High Voltage/Low Voltage experience.
  • Current relevant electrical certification.
  • Locally valid driving permit.
  • Minimal workshop experience required.
  • Proficient with electrical and electronic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to remote locations via charter and commercial flights.
  • Solid computer skills, including web-based diagnostics, research, and Microsoft Office.
