About the Role

Waterfront Toronto is seeking a seasoned professional to lead its development agenda as Senior Vice President, Development. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this key member of the senior leadership team will provide strategic oversight and direction for the Corporation's real estate assets, ensuring alignment with Waterfront Toronto's long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute Waterfront Toronto's ambitious development agenda, driving new community developments, including affordable housing and commercial spaces.
  • Manage asset optimization and secure critical municipal approvals.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across government, non-profit, and private sectors.
  • Lead and mentor development teams to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in delivering large-scale urban mixed-use developments, with particular expertise in projects that integrate affordable housing, retail, commercial, and recreational components. Strong leadership and relationship-building skills are essential, enabling the Senior Vice President to align stakeholders behind Waterfront Toronto's vision and navigate the complexities of multi-stakeholder environments.

The ability to resolve conflicts, manage issues proactively, and mitigate unforeseen delays will be critical to success. As an experienced and strategic negotiator, the Senior Vice President will also be attuned to the latest trends in sustainable urban development and smart city initiatives, positioning Waterfront Toronto as a global leader in innovative waterfront revitalization.
