Job Summary

AVI Health and Community Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Casual SAFER Systems Navigator. As a key member of our team, you will provide coordination, care-planning, and system navigation for the SAFER clinic and opportunities to cover for the Workforce program as well.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessments, intake, and care planning for identified participants in the programs, including identifying and addressing any barriers to accessing prescribed alternatives.
  • Contribute to the program design and delivery using System User Design and Nothing About Us Without Us principles.
  • Work collaboratively with the SAFER team to provide psychosocial supports for participants in the community and at the program site.
  • Support participants in navigating administrative and financial requirements for access to pharmaceuticals according to care plan.
  • Engage in planning, evaluation, reporting, and program development as required.
Requirements
  • University degree in health or social services, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, etc., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of four years of demonstrated experience in the direct delivery of social services, ideally in harm reduction services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to work effectively with co-workers, program participants, community, and other service providers.
  • Able to respectfully engage and support Indigenous relationships, with a trauma-informed and decolonial lens.
Working Conditions

This is a casual position with shifts falling between Monday to Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm or 10:00am to 6:00pm depending on the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be required to work outdoors during all types of weather in all seasons.

AVI Health and Community Services offers a competitive hourly rate of $33.99/hour to start with stepped increases based on your seniority with AVI. We also offer a pension plan and other benefits.
